Joelle Lurie
Joelle Lurie
Joelle Lurie is a NYC-based jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter, and actress. She brings her distinctive “jazzed-up pop & popped-up jazz” modern style to Take Me There (2014), her debut album of standards, originals, and reimagined pop covers. Featured on NPR’s Song Travels with Michael Feinstein, Joelle's record features her band, the genre-crossing Pinehurst Trio.

Joelle and her trio started out as close friends all living on the same
block in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood of Washington Heights. Together, they have performed at venues including Lincoln Center, Rainbow Room, Birdland Jazz Club, SubCulture, Zinc Bar, New York Stock Exchange, Four Seasons, Top of the Rock, Regattabar in Cambridge, Mass., The Standard Hotel's Boom Boom Room, Rockwood Music Hall (where they play regularly), & as the featured house band for the James Beard Galas & Awards.

Joelle's voice can also be heard in a variety of recordings, voice over spots, jingles, and backup vocals, as well as on stage and screen, such as 24 Hour Musicals (Gramercy Theatre), as a soloist with the Boston Holiday Pops, Jerry Springer The Opera (Speakeasy Stage Company), on The Wendy Williams Show, and at NBC’s Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Tonight she'll be joined by very special guests: NYC jazz man, Brian Newman (Lady Gaga's Jazz Bandleader) and singer/actress, Danielle Grabianowski (Sleep No More).

Come be charmed by the artist PopMatters claims, " everything a fresh airy touch with putting pop grooves beneath old standards. Lurie is onto something here: both accessible and a little different."
