Birdland Theater is thrilled to announce that Lucie Arnaz will be headlining our Summer Preview Season with a new show, “I Got The Job: Songs From My Musical Past.” Shows will take place at 7pm nightly Tuesday, July 17 through Saturday, July 21.

Celebrating a life on stage, Lucie Arnaz returns to her theater roots and
looks back at some of the roles she has created on stages throughout the world. From her first role at 14 as The Cheshire Cat in Alice In Wonderland, to a grandmother hanging upside down on a trapeze while singing about the preciousness of life in Pippin, Lucie and Musical Director Ron Abel offer audiences a brand-new concert of stories and songs. With anecdotes and fond memories about her co-stars, directors and musical collaborators, Lucie offers iconic songs and hidden treasures from some of Broadway’s greatest shows and looks at the backstage magic it takes to create them.

Lucie Arnaz has had an extremely diversified, fifty-year career in show business. She has starred on Broadway in They're Playing Our Song (winning Theatre World, LA Drama Critic’s and Outer Critic’s Circle Awards), in Lost In Yonkers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Pippin; in London in The Witches of Eastwick; First National companies of Seesaw, Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Social Security, My One And Only (winning the coveted Sarah Siddons Award), and Pippin; in regional theatres in dozens of others including Wonderful Town, Master Class, Cabaret, The GuI Gotardsman, Annie Get Your Gun, I Do! I Do!, Educating Rita, Vanities, and Mack and Mabel.

You know her work from television (THE LUCIE ARNAZ SHOW, SONS AND DAUGHTERS, THE BLACK DAHLIA, THE MATING SEASON, WHO GETS THE FRIENDS?, WASHINGTON MISTRESS, DEATH SCREAM) and six seasons of HERE’S LUCY co-starring her brother, Desi Arnaz, Jr. and her mother, Lucille Ball, as well as in film (THE JAZZ SINGER with Neil Diamond and Sir Laurence Oliver -Golden Globe Nomination).

Lucie has performed the opening number on the ACADEMY AWARDS and at THE WHITE HOUSE. She Executive Produced the I LOVE LUCY 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (EMMY nomination) and LUCY & DESI: A HOME MOVIE (EMMY winner 1993). She has traveled internationally in concert for nearly 30 years. Her CDs include JUST IN TIME, LATIN ROOTS and most recently, LUCIE, LIVE! AT FEINSTEIN’S AT THE NIKKO. Lucie teaches master classes on song performance and directed the NY workshop of Hazel: A Musical Maid in America, headed to Broadway. With her brother, Desi, she manages Desilu, too LLC and with her husband, the acclaimed actor-writer, Laurence Luckinbill, she manages five grown children.
