Birdland Theater is proud to announce another “Uke Night,” a Broadway celebration of the ukulele! The one night only event will take place on Tuesday, October 16 at 7pm.

Hosted by Broadway singer/dancer/actor/director Jeffry Denman, this “Uke Night” will star some of Broadway’s most talented performers. In past shows, the ukulele has been played and celebrated by theater favorites including Marc Kudisch, The Skivvies, Luke Hawkins, Hannah Elless, Jason Poole, Nancy Anderson, and Clarke Thorell, among others.

Jeffry Denman is a Backstage Bistro Award winner for his solo show Jazz Turns at Birdland. He is also a two-time Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Lucille Lortel, Helen Hayes, LA Ovation and Astaire Award nominee. He starred in the world premiere as well as the Original Broadway Cast of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (IRNE Award) and was in the original Broadway companies of The Producers, How To Succeed..., Dream, and the closing company of Cats. Off Broadway credits include: Kid Victory (Vineyard), YANK! (York), Cagney (Westside Theatre), Passion (CSC), Children of A Lesser God (Keen Company), Of Thee I Sing and Face the Music (Encores). He has performed in, directed and choreographed over two dozen installments of the Broadway by the Year series at Town Hall. As a director and choreographer, he has been working extensively regionally and off broadway. Most recently he directed and choreographed a brand-new version of An American in Paris at Ogunquit Playhouse and the world premiere of FairyTale Christmas at Tuacahn Center for the Arts in St George, Utah. Off Broadway choreography credits include, YANK! (York), Naked Boys Singing (Actor’s Playhouse), Assistance (Playwright’s Horizons), Bullet for Adolf (New World Stages). Other regional credits include: Newsies, West Side Story, Disney’s When You Wish, Damn Yankees, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Music Man. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Denman Theatre & Dance Co as well as the Director of New Works at Tuacahn Center for the Arts. He also loves playing the Uke.
