On Monday, October 13 at 7pm, the Broadway at Birdland concert series will welcome back acclaimed vocalist JENNA ESPOSITO for a special Columbus Day salute to some of the most celebrated Italian-American singers in the history of American popular song! In this exciting, fun-packed show, Jenna will sing the songs of Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Connie Francis,and Frank Sinatra, among others. Songs will range from “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” to “All The Way,” “That’s Amore,” and “Mambo Italiano.” The show also features the world-renowned City Rhythm Orchestra, which calls Philadelphia its home. The program is inspired by Mark Rotella’sbook “Amore – The Story of Italian American Song,” and author Rotella will be on hand to introduce the show.

Jenna Esposito made her New York nightclub debut in 2004, and has been delighting audiences across the country ever since. She is best known for her tribute to Connie Francis, which has been a smash hit among critics and audiences, alike. Connie, herself, has praised Jenna’s work, raving, “I’ve known and loved Jenna for years and love the way she sings. I’m ever so grateful for the love and respect she shows to the catalog of songs that has been so good to me through the years." In New York City, Jenna has headlined at Birdland, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency,The Metropolitan Room, BACKSTAGE dope teatro, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Duplex, Danny’s Skylight Room, and NYC’s historic Friars Club. In 2013, Jenna performed at the Highline Ballroom, in Manhattan, where she was the opening act and duet partner for multi-platinum recording artist, Patrizio Buanne, and in 2011, she made her debut at Manhattan’s historic Town Hall, sharing the stage with Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Lucie Arnaz, Larry Gatlin and Marilyn Maye. Jenna has also performed shows at the James Armstrong Theatre and the Nakano Theatre in Torrance, CA, The M Bar in Hollywood, Lorenzo’s at the Hilton Garden Inn in Staten Island, NY, the Hoboken Italian Festival in Hoboken, NJ, the St. Nicholas Italian Festival in Philaelphia, PA, the John Cranford Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, Empire City Casino in Yonkers, NY, Villa Roma in Callicoon, NY, and Monticello Raceway & Casino in Monticello, NY. Dubbed “the voice of Little Italy,” Jenna has performed many shows in Manhattan’s historic Little Italy, including soloshows at the famed San Gennaro Festival, and she has also made severalappearances in Manhattan’s Columbus Day Parade.

The CITY RHYTHM ORCHESTRA has a distinct style and sound that has earned them legions of fans in their hometown of Philadelphia and around the world. Led by Pete Spina and Nick Vallerio,the band’s fine musicianship and amazing energy has earned them the title of“Philly’s Premier Swing Outfit” by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Their shows are always tremendously exciting and entertaining. The band has been featured at nightclubs and festivals in many cities throughout the USA,including Philadelphia (Kimmel Center, Mann Music Center); Atlantic City (Trump Casino, Borgata), New York (Lincoln Center, Highline Ballroom); Boston(Faneuil Hall, Swing City); Washington, DC (Clarendon Ballroom, Glen Echo Ballroom); Tampa (Savoy South, Heritage Village); San Francisco (Sweets Ballroom, Biscuits & Blues); Chicago (Grant Park Summer Festival), and others. The band has also developed a strong base in Italy and has completed eight tours of the country, including extensive performances incities such as Rome, Florence, Spoleto and Venice, and at festivals in Umbria, Sicily and other provinces. City Rhythm Band Members include: Trumpet - Bob Gravener, Alto Sax - Nick Vallerio,Tenor Sax - Pete Spina, Trombone - Clint Sharman, Piano - Bobby Valeno, and Drums - Mike Nigro. For this performance, they will be joined by Ms. Esposito’s musical director, Fortune Esposito on guitar, along with other members of Ms. Esposito’s band: Bass Guitar - Rob Broelmann. Backup vocals - Kelly Esposito-Broelmann and Rob Langeder.
