The Broadway at Birdland concert series is delighted to announce that acclaimed singers Jenna Esposito and Jim Van Slyke will join together in celebration of the music of Connie Francis and Neil Sedaka in “Where The Hits Are: A Tribute to the Songs of Connie Francis and Neil Sedaka” on Monday, December 30 at 7pm. Fortune Esposito will act as musical director/guitarist, with David Crone on piano, Rob Broelmann on bass, Dan Weiner on drums, Frank Petrocelli on sax, with Kelly Esposito-Broelmann & Rob Langeder on backup vocals.
Neil Sedaka and Connie Francis are two of the most enduring legends in the history of popular music, and unbeknownst to many, each of them can attribute a great deal of their success to the other. Vocalists Jenna Esposito and Jim Van Slyke have been performing their tributes to Connie Francis and Neil Sedaka, respectively, to rave reviews around the country, and have finally brought them together. Join them on a rockin' and rollicking journey through the songbooks of Neil Sedaka and Connie Francis, including hits like "Stupid Cupid," "Laughter In TheRain," "Solitaire," "Where The Boys Are," and more.

Singer Jenna Esposito made her New York nightclub debut in 2004, and has been delighting audiences across the countryever since. She is best known for her tribute to Connie Francis, which has been a smash hit among critics and audiences, alike. Connie herself ha spraised Jenna’s work, raving, “I’ve known and loved Jenna for years and love the way she sings. I’m ever so grateful for the love and respect she shows to the catalog of songs that has been so good to me through the years." Earlier this year, Jenna performed at the Highline Ballroom, in Manhattan, where she was the opening act and duet partner for multi-platinum recording artist, Patrizio Buanne, and in 2011, she made her debut at Manhattan’s historic Town Hall, along with Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Lucie Arnaz, Larry Gatlin and Marilyn Maye. Jenna has performed shows at the James Armstrong Theatre and the Nakano Theatre in Torrance, CA, The M Bar in Hollywood, Lorenzo’s at the Hilton Garden Inn in Staten Island, NY, the John Cranford Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, Empire City Casino in Yonkers, NY, and Monticello Raceway & Casino in Monticello, NY. Dubbed “the voice of Little Italy,” Jenna has performed many shows in Manhattan’s historic Little Italy, including solo shows at the famed San Gennaro Festival, and she has also made several appearances in Manhattan’s Columbus Day Parade. Her shows Italian Undercover, That’s Amore: Jenna Sings Love, Italian Style,Takin’ A Chance On Love, A Hint ofRosemary: The Songs of Rosemary Clooney, SMOOCH!, and I Hate Men:Songs for the Scorned have all received critical acclaim, and her annual“All-Star Birthday Bash” is a fun-filled evening during which she has shared the stage with a number of New York’s finest performers. In November, 2009, Jenna celebrated the release of her second CD, To Connie…Love,Jenna. The CD is a live recording of Jenna’s Connie Francis tribute show, which was recorded during her June-July,2009 run of the show at The Metropolitan Room in New York City.

Award winning singer, songwriter and recordingartist, Jim Van Slyke has headlined on concert stages around the globe. The critically acclaimed success of Jim’s latest showcase, The Sedaka Show, has taken him to a new plateau. Neil Sedaka himself has not only joined Jim on stage for a duet in Hollywood, San Francisco and New York but has also highly endorsed the tribute. Neil has recorded two duets with Jim for his new album “The Sedaka Sessions” recently released on the LML Music Label. NeilSedaka exclaimed “I’ve seenmany singers over the years do my songs, but nobody has moved me more than Jim.”

Other career highlights for Jim include his solo performance at The White House and being a featured entertainer for President Clinton's second Inaugural Ball. Jim has toured throughout the United States and Europe fronting several magnificent big bands including extensive tours with the USO and made his solo European Concert Debut with one of Germany’s premier National Symphony Orchestras singing an evening of Opera Arias and classic American Musical Theatre standards. He has been presented at The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage as a featured artist and has performed with The Washington National Opera under theartistic direction of Placido Domingo. In 2007 Jim received a prestigious ASCAP Songwriters' Award for theself-penned title track of his debut album, “Open Road”. Jim’s critically acclaimed album (also on the LML Music Label) was named to the Official 2007 Grammy Award Ballot for Best Pop Vocal Album alongside such artists as Billy Joel, Audra McDonald, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer.
