Stacey Kent

Acclaimed Grammy-nominated singer, Stacey Kent, sings from the soul, telling her stories with faultless phrasing and a lucid, enchanting voice. Stacey will be returning to Birdland fresh from the studio, where she has been recording her new album, THE CHANGING LIGHTS (EMI), due for release in Sept, 2013. She will preview a few of the songs from the new album during her NY residency. Stacey’s current release was her third Blue Note/EMI CD, “Dreamer In Concert,” her first ever live album and follow-up to the Grammy nominated “Breakfast on the Morning Tram” (2007) and all-French “Raconte-moi” (2009). Notably, Stacey’s band features Jim Tomlinson (sax) whose songwriting partnership with famed novelist Kazuo Ishiguro has formed the central plank in Stacey’s recent albums. It’s an annual homecoming not to be missed!
