Songwriter Circle with Jeremy Schonfeld, Paul Scott Goodman, Neil Berg, Selda Sahin & Derek Gregor
Jeremy Schonfeld hosts and participates in Birdland's first ever SONGWRITER CIRCLE on Monday, March 13th at 7pm. The evening features some of the best Broadway and Off-Broadway songwriters and performers, including award winning composer/lyricists Neil Berg, Paul Scott Goodman, and the songwriting team of Selda Sahin and Derek Gregor.

This intimate evening gives each songwriter a chance to tell the stories behind the songs. Surprises abound when a group of songwriters share the stage, swapping songs — a harmony is added, lyrics change, and group participation may break out at any moment!

Each songwriter brings a special guest performer including Gabe Violett (The Voice), Rita Harvey (Next to Normal, Fun Home), Brook Wood, Max Sangerman, Natalie Douglas, Lynne Shankel, Tess Primack, and Lawrence Clayton.

Jeremy Schonfeld is a celebrated singer/songwriter, composer/lyricist, producer, mentor and teacher. His concept album, Iron & Coal, recorded in Vienna, Austria with producing partners Beat4Feet (Martin Gellner and Werner Stranka) received Amadeus Award nominations for Best Recording, mixing, and mastering. Additional albums include 37 Notebooks, Drift, and Blue Skies and All. Musicals include Drift, based on Jeremy's similarly titled concept album, Spun, Greta, and the upcoming Calling All Kates. He was also a founding composer/lyricist for the A-Train Plays and Musicals, and served as a contributing songwriter/performer for the Winter Harbor Theater company. Jeremy wrote and performed songs for the musical feature-film, "Clear Blue Tuesday" and wrote the featured single "Babazille Mahlangu" for the Broadway in South Africa organization. Jeremy's song, "House of Love," recorded by Shoshana Bean (featuring the Broadway Dreams Chorus), has been recorded and performed numerous times, and is consistently used in diverse charitable campaigns including Defying Inequality, Rockers on Broadway, and was prominently featured in the New York City Gay Men's Chorus Annual Holiday Concert at Town Hall, which was appropriately named The NYC Gay Men's Chorus Holiday House of Love.
