The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that singer/songwriter Jeremy Schonfeld will host the first “Songwriter Circle” on the stage of the historic music room on Monday, March 13 at 7pm.

Jeremy Schonfeld will host and participate in Birdland's first ever “Songwriter Circle,” featuring today’s most talented writers and performers from on and off-Broadway, including Neil Berg, Lauren Pritchard, and the team of Selda Said and Derek Gregor. This intimate night of music will give each writer the chance to tell audiences the stories behind the stories, giving the listener a 'peak behind the curtain.” Surprises are always in store when you have a group of songwriters sharing the stage simultaneously and swapping songs - set lists change, a harmony is added here and there, and group participation may break out at any given moment! Each writer is responsible for bringing a special guest performer to the stage. Those names will be announced in the coming weeks.

Jeremy Schonfeld is a celebrated singer/songwriter, composer/lyricist, producer, mentor and teacher. His concept album, Iron & Coal, recorded in Vienna, Austria with producing partners Beat4Feet (Martin Gellner and Werner Stranka) received Amadeus Award nominations for Best Recording, mixing, and mastering. Additional albums include 37 Notebooks, Drift, and Blue Skies and All. Musicals include Drift, based on Jeremy’s similarly titled concept album, Spun, Greta, and the upcoming Calling All Kates. He was also a founding composer/lyricist for the A-Train Plays and Musicals, and served as a contributing songwriter/performer for the Winter Harbor Theater company. Jeremy wrote and performed songs for the musical feature-film, “Clear Blue Tuesday” and wrote the featured single “Babazille Mahlangu” for the Broadway in South Africa organization. Jeremy’s song, “House of Love,” recorded by Shoshana Bean (featuring the Broadway Dreams Chorus), has been recorded and performed numerous times, and is consistently used in diverse charitable campaigns including Defying Inequality, Rockers on Broadway, and was prominently featured in the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus Annual Holiday Concert at Town Hall, which was appropriately named The NYC Gay Men’s Chorus Holiday House of Love.
