The Broadwayat Birdland concert series is thrilled to present Elegies for Angels, Punks andRaging Queens: A Benefit Concert with Bill Russell & Friends. The one-night-only event will take place onMonday, February 29 at 7pm on the stage of Birdland, 315 West 44 Street in NewYork City.

The eveningis a night to celebrate life! Bill Russell leads the night with personalanecdotes about the conception and inspiration of Elegies. Hewill be joined by a star-studded cast of Broadway and Birdland favoritesincluding Josh Young (Amazing Grace),Caroline Bowman (Evita, Wicked), Karen Mason (Mamma Mia, SunsetBoulevard), Jaime Cepero (Smash), Sean MacLaughlin (Phantomof the Opera, Evita), Natalie Douglas (7-time MAC Award Winner), andmore. The night is conceptualized byJill Sapenoff and an intimate orchestra will be led by William Waldrop. Inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS MemorialQuilt, Elegies is told from the perspective of charactersafflicted with AIDS, their friends and their families. Proceeds from the evening will go to benefitBroadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.

The Broadwayat Birdland concert series takes place every Monday night on the historic stageof Birdland. The music room is locatedin the heart of Manhattan’s Theater District.
